About Coín

Coín is a traditional Spanish town, very well cared for, and loved by all here. When you get here, you will love the people too, very warm and friendly. With our location, in the mountains and beautiful countryside, still only half an hour from Marbella, the beach or the airport, in recent years population has grown and has now a nice addition of 20 percent non Spanish residents. You can live a pleasant life here, pay less for your rent etc, and still keep your work on the coast. Nice to come home here, to peace and quiet after a busy day at work, that many have found already..

Although Coín is a small town there is plenty to do here. There are all the big supermarkets (Lidl, Mercadona, Dia) plus a shopping centre with a cinema and also the famous boot sale on Sundays as a meeting place. A weekly farmers market held next to La Trocha shopping centre on Sunday mornings is also a great place for buying cheap, fresh, locally grown produce.

You will enjoy the variety of bars and restaurants – traditional Spanish food, Indian, Chinese and a few nice British pubs where you can join the darts team or get a great fish & chips dinner when you miss home!

Coín celebrates lots of local Fiestas of course, you can join in on the horse carriages or the dancing, or just sit at the bar watching them all – everybody dressed up in traditional outfits, even the horses wear their Sunday best!

The great New Years celebration is famous, and people come from all over Spain to this one – not to be missed.

The people of Coín love children and for those little ones everything is provided. There are lots of good schools, a lot of activities organized for them after school and a lot of new friends to make!
